I have been working with people with ADHD since 2002. I am a qualified teacher with ADHD and have 2 children also diagnosed. My staff and I work one-on-one, as groups do not work well for ADHD. We use a multisensory approach and enhance the use of logic rather than memory. We remediate and test on national benchmarks to be sure of improvement. We assist children to gain mastery over their learning. The flow on is self confidence, social skills, building relationships, insight into their own ability. We create a safe environment for them to learn and a place where they are valued.  Neurofeedback: This has been shown to help ADHD and there is a lot of scientific evidence of...

I use maths interview assessments to identify specific learning gaps in numeracy. This is not a pen/pencil assessment. It involved manipulation of concrete materials and verbal interview questions. For literacy, I assess for alphabet code knowledge, phonemic awareness skills of blending, segmenting and manipulating sounds. Also I assess for comprehension skills using standardised reading tools.   I cater for each student's unique needs in literacy and/or numeracy. After an initial assessment, lessons are created to target specific gaps/ strengths/ challenges that have been identified for the individual. A One Note document is created for each student. Parents/ caregivers may then share this with other professionals involved in the student's learning. Each One Note is a document of planning and...
