Unlocking Sensory Processing: Understanding and Empowering Your Child at Home with Lisa Hughes
July 31 @ 7:00 pm-8:30 pm

Our July speaker is Lisa Huges who will be talking about Unlocking Sensory Processing: Understanding and Empowering Your Child at Home on Thursday 31st July 2025 @ 7pm AEST.
Lisa Hughes, is the heart and soul behind Occupational Therapy Helping Children! With over 30 years of experience in children’s occupational therapy, Lisa has made a positive impact in both Australia and the USA.
As a true pioneer in Australia’s paediatric occupational therapy field, Lisa founded Occupational Therapy Helping Children in 1994. Notably, her practice was among one of the first private practices in Sydney with the focus being on making therapy fun and engaging.
Lisa’s passion lies in providing the best possible care for her clients and their families. She firmly believes that every child should have access to the best help and support possible. To make this a reality, Lisa goes above and beyond to ensure all the children and families who come to her practice receive the utmost care and attention.
At Occupational Therapy Helping Children, the philosophy is simple yet powerful: each child is treated holistically and individually. Lisa and her team assess how challenges affect a child’s various aspects of life and tailor an approach that best suits their unique needs. Lisa’s wealth of specialist training throughout her career allows her to personalize her approach for each child she helps.
Beyond her exceptional expertise, Lisa is sought after for her insights and knowledge. She has been invited to present talks, courses, events, and research papers, sharing her wealth of experience with others in the field.
Outside of work, Lisa enjoys basking in the sunshine and embracing the beauty of Sydney’s Northern Beaches. She cherishes spending quality time with her family and her adorable Cavoodle, Pretzel.
Lisa’s dedication, warmth, and expertise make her a beloved figure in the world of paediatric occupational therapy, and she continues to make a difference in the lives of countless children and families.
