I Will Survive (And Thrive): Navigating The Challenge Of ADHD and Childhood Trauma with Dr Terry Lim

March 14 @ 7:00 pm-8:30 pm

Dr Terry Lim is a Consultant Psychiatrist in full time private practice, at the Mindsight Clinic, Sydney where he is also the Director. He is a member of the Faculties of Consultation-Liaison and Adult Psychiatry, the Australian ADHD Professionals Association and the ADHD Special Interest Group of the RANZCP. Terry is also involved in medical student teaching with Macquarie University and trains other health professionals such as GPs around mental health assessment and treatment. He is a leading expert in assessing and treating ADHD and its co-morbidities across the lifespan having done so for over ten years and has a special interest in the relationship between ADHD and early trauma.

In his talk “I Will Survive (And Thrive):  Navigating The Challenge Of Adhd And Childhood Trauma”, Dr Terry Lim will explore the complex but very common relationship between trauma and ADHD including how each condition affects the other from a neurobiological, psychological, and social point of view. He will discuss how important it is to identify if both conditions are present, and how to tell which problems may be related to which condition and what to do about them. It will give a clearer understanding to both health professionals and those with these conditions, or those that care for them, so that we can empower each other to live a more fulfilled life.
